Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without the festivities at Louisa May Alcott’s Orchard House. The homestead is decorated in the spirit of the Alcott family and the staff provides wonderful programs for the season.
An extra treat of course is the recent release of Eve LaPlante’s groundbreaking books, Marmee & Louisa The Untold Story of Louisa May Alcott and Her Mother and My Heart is Boundless: Writings of Abigail May Alcott, Louisa’s Mother, bringing the author to Orchard House for a special book signing.
Here is the invitation issued by Orchard House:
PLEASE NOTE: The Open House portion on December 5th is for members only. Members enjoy special treats and can walk through the house to view the decorations and the living history, meeting guides in costume. Visit www.louisamayalcott.org to learn about becoming a member so you can come to the open house next year. It’s a great way to support this living museum to Louisa.
The public is invited to the book signing and to meet Eve LaPlante. To R.S.V.P., send an email to info@louisamayalcott.org or call 978.369.4118 x104.
The public is also invited to the holiday program on weekends for a fee. Here are the details of A Magical Christmas at Louisa May Alcott’s Orchard House.

Susan’s ebook, “Game Changer” is now available From the Garret – download for free!
Hi, Susan – I just double-checked with Orchard House. The Open House next Wednesday is meant for members only. However, the book signing – held at the same time – is open to the public. If people want to experience the holiday program (living history, house decorations, etc.) they should attend the holiday program running on the weekends. If they want to meet Eve and have her sign their book, they should come next Wednesday to the signing.
Orchard House’s website – http://www.louisamayalcott.org has more info! -Beth
Ooo thanks, I’ll clarify that!
