We have a winner!

You people are good! I barely had the question up an hour when I got a correct response. Our winner of Harriet Reisen’s Louisa May Alcott The Woman Behind Little Women is Mia, also known as Emilija Knezevic and she is from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Truly, Louisa May Alcott’s fame and influence reach around the world!

Congratulations, Mia, and happy reading!

  1. Thak you so very much Susan, Harriet and Mr./Ms. Harriet’s Publisher for being willing to send the book all the way to Bosnia. 🙂

It was truly my lucky day today, ’cause I happened to be near my computer just some 10-15 minutes after the question was posted so I quickly double checked (for some reason “The Rival Painters” also crossed my mind) and answered before the others had a chance to react. And I only came to my room to switch the computer off, for I was about to spend hours in kitchen. That’s about being in the right place in the right time. 🙂

I’m so happy that I won this book and can’t wait to read it. In my paper that I’m writing about 19th century types of womanhood LMA and her Little Women, I used a quote from Woman Behind Little Women (about Abba being one of the first social workers in America) from the chapter that Susan kindly sent me. I can’t wait to read the whole book.

Am I the only one on this blog who hasn’t read it yet?
